Happy Tuesday! This post was supposed to go live the day I went into labor so I’m a bit behind but….better late than never!
I got asked to make and review the new Fat Quarter Shop bag pattern Kimberly’s Sac and I was so excited because it was the perfect project to distract me from waiting for my little man to arrive. It’s quick and well written, perfect to show off your favorite pieces of fabric with fun quilting without feeling overwhelmed by a full quilt.
My mother in law has been begging me to make her a bag and I just couldn’t come up with what I wanted to make her. Kimberly’s Sac was perfect. It’s the carry-all bag just what my mil needed! (I can’t wait to make one for me!!!)
I decided to pick one of my all-time favorite lines by Lotta Jansdotter-Lucky. I just love the color way and knew it was perfect for my mother in law. I paired it with Windham’s Artisan Cotton (similar product here).
I had so much fun assembling this bag. It’s truly the perfect combo of bag making and quilting. Playing with the order of the fabric and then deciding how to quilt each panel allowed my creative outlet to be met without taking hours upon hours. Swoon.
Here’s my finished bag:
Eek. It was hard to give away…but that just means I get to pick some fabric for my next version soon! I see many more of these in the future!!!
Thanks FQS for having me be a part of the tour!!!
