Paper Obsessed Blog Tour: Burning Love

Happy Monday Crafters!!!

I am so excited to FINALLY share one of my favorite projects and lines of all time!!! Heather Givans new line Paper Obsessed for Windham Fabrics is I mean seriously the teacher in me went WHEEEEEE!!!  Paper airplanes, notebook paper, envelopes, oh my! And the pop of neon yellow…sigh. It’s just that awesome.

When I got the fabric in I knew exactly what I was going to make. I was pregnant at the time and was in FULL BLOWN nesting.I had my eye on the heart quilt tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Co and just knew I had to create my own take on it! So I decided to play with the color combos and make four heart blocks. Just the perfect size for my peanut.

I put everything aside and sewed the quilt in one day, got to my sweet friends longarm and went to town with the design. I decided that since it had the fun neon yellow, I HAD to quilt in yellow….with flames. Yup hunka hunka burnin’ love was born. (I may or may not have performed this song in high school show choir)

IMG_0597It has become the first quilt I grab when we leave the house and we use it all the time for the park. Or car. Or just laying around the house. It is our favorite!

(My baby has the bluest eyes and tan skin, neither of which are from me!)

Now that you are in love with the fabric as much as I am….IT’S TIME FOR A GIVEAWAY!!!! ***CLOSED***

Winner’s Response: Julianne “My favorite school memory is my parents would always come and volunteer in all of the classes myself and my siblings were in my favorite is from second grade. On Fridays our teacher asked us to clean out and organized our desks. Some of the students didn’t want too. So that next Friday my teacher asked my 6’3″ dad to come in and help. My dad walked in and asked if they would clean out their desks. Again they were defiant so with permission from the teacher, he picked up the desk and dumped the contents on the floor. After that my dad came and volunteered every friday, all my teacher would have to say was that he was coming into volunteer and magically the desks would be clean. It’s funny memories like this that always make me remember those good experiences.”

  1. My favorite outside of school time memory is playing tetherball in the playground with friends. My favorite in the classroom are: First grade when I told the teacher the earth stayed in one place and the sun and moon were the same item and how they rotated to make the days and nights (she called my mom to discuss!) Third grade when the teacher had math problems on the board for use to solve and how I saw that one would involve carrying (which we hadn’t learned in class but I had learned from the neighborhood kids), and I surprised her by solving the problem. Hmm haven’t thought about that in a long time. Thanks for the chance.

I always loved to go school clothes shopping and shopping for pens and pencils. Now that I am older and have kids of my own, I really don’t like to go school clothes shopping because I have to pay! However, I still look forward to building my stash of pens and pencils during that time.

My favorite school time memory is staying after school to help my favorite teacher. She was my fourth grade teacher and I recently got in touch with her on Facebook She was my teacher 42 years ago and still remembered me!!! tljeo at yahoo dot com

  4. Amy says:

I remember that my friend and I would help our fifth grade teacher decorate the classroom after school. It was fun to help.

  5. Sharon Browne says:

I remember always wearing a new dress the first day of school that my mother had made. Thanks for the chance to win.

  6. Nancy says:

My favorite school time memory is walking to HS with my friends. I lived about 1 1/2 miles away and none of us had cars…we laughed, we cried, we shared gossip…it was a fun time!

  7. My favorite school time memory is being in Marching Band and PepBand. We had so much fun going different places and Marching in parades. Playing at all the home basketball games in pepband

  8. My favorite memory is from Spanish class. There were too many sections of Spanish, so the German teacher taught one of them that I happened to be in and he had some trouble with pronouncing names. He called Bobby Huther, Booby Hooter. It still makes me giggle like an immature school kid.

  9. Mara says:

My favorite school time memory is in College, does that count 🙂 I made the best friends there and even met a fellow sleep walker, I normally would sleep talk, questioning my room mate on test questions, but one time my room mate decided to take a sleep walk on the second floor railing, scary moment but very memorable!

  10. My favorite school memory is walking to school w/ my siblings. We had fun in the fall kicking the leaves and fun in the winter playing in the snow!
